Our History

The history of the Department of Translation and Interpreting, College of International Studies, Yangzhou University dates back to the year 1952, when North Jiangsu Normal School was founded and began to enroll foreign language trainees. In 1959, North Jiangsu Normal School was upgraded into Yangzhou Teachers College, which began to enroll English majors in 1960. After studying for 3 years in college, most of the students found English teaching posts in secondary educational institutions.
